OUR BEGINNING
Our founder, William Erby Smith, realized this lakeshore was an incredible place and began proceedings to protect it by creating the Lake Michigan Shore Association in 1962. The Lake Michigan Shore Association is a vitally important organization that is dedicated to monitoring issues that could adversely impact our area. We also advocate and encourage actions that enhance the quality of life and the environment along the lakeshore.

WHO WE ARE TODAYIt is with our membership support that we are able to present a meaningful collective voice on issues of concern and to make real and significant impacts on community related matters. We provide a forum for the dissemination of information and education on issues such as lake level projections, shoreline protection measures, surface drainage and creek pollution, utility services and extension plans, property assessments and taxes, and specific interest items that affect our area.
The Association meets annually each summer. Members are invited to bring their family and neighbors and share the fellowship of our unique lakeshore community. Guest speakers on current topics are invited and members are encouraged to attend. There are several social events held throughout the year as well! |
